Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

The carpal tunnel is a narrow passage in the wrist, almost in the wrist palm. Bones, ligaments and tendons make up its structure. The median nerve passes through the tunnel.

The median nerve extends from a network of nerves that begin near the neck and shoulder and descend to the hand. The median nerve provides sensation to the thumb, to the index, to the middle finger and to the side of the thumb of the ring finger.

Treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Stretching, massage along the median nerve, acupressure and electro-acupuncture in 6 points of acupuncture in the forearm and in the hand.

I use several methods to treat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, taking into account the research and demonstrations of Harvard University on the efficiency of acupuncture in the treatment of this syndrome.

In addition to massage in the area of the median nerve, I use several acupuncture points of different meridians, two points of the triple burner Meridian, three acupuncture points of the Large Intestine and acupuncture point of the Small Intestine.
At certain acupuncture points I apply acupressure and electroacupuncture. Already from the first session the clients feel improvement of their symptoms. You can add a treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, or two if you have both types of massage in both hands.

Add treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome. Stretching, massage along the median nerve, acupressure and electroacupuncture in 6 acupuncture points on the forearm and in the hand. Treatment for a hand, because this syndrome is usually present in one hand.

Treatment of supraspinatus tendonitis.

Treatment of supraspinatus tendonitis.

Deep tissue massage, placement of suction cups on the shoulder, acupressure and electroacupuncture in 8 acupuncture points in the affected arm.

This treatment is calculated for only one side, since it usually hurts only one side.

If you feel pain when you lift your arm in abduction between 90 and 120 degrees it is likely that you have affected some tendon, most likely the tendon of the supraspinatus muscle, posterior muscle of the scapula.

The supraspinatus syndrome or supraspinatus tendonitis (colloquially shoulder pain) is the inflammation that is caused in this tendon by the pinch friction between the head of the humerus and the acromial arch.

The supraspinatus muscle tendon passes along the upper shoulder and is inserted into the arm bone (humerus bone).

The function of this muscle is to raise the arm to the side of the trunk.

Above this tendon is a bursa (fluid bag whose function is to lubricate the movement of the tendon). This bursa can also become inflamed (bursitis)

Symptoms of an inflamed supraspinatus:

Pain and weakness when the arm is raised to one side through a 60 degree arc with external rotation.

What can a massage therapist do?

Apply heat, either with hot volcanic stones or hot bags.
Stretching, deep tissue massage, acupressure, eletroacupuncture.

If it is also bursitis, cups can be applied to the affected shoulder.

This is one of the muscles of the rotator cuff.

Do you have muscle pain?

Massage and Endorphins

Endorphins, name that comes from the words endogenous (inside) and morphine (alkaloid opioid). They are substances that mitigate pain among other functions.

Endorphins have an analgesic effect, relieve or suppress pain. Its sedative action allows the general relaxation of the organism,
They are manufactured in the brain, the spinal cord and other parts of the body, and released into the bloodstream to different pleasurable actions such as eating and many other pleasurable actions or to receive massages.

Massage is a very effective way to stimulate the secretion of endorphins.

The correct application of therapeutic massage techniques increases blood flow to and from the affected area, facilitating the arrival of endorphins and the release of toxins trapped in the tissues.

When it is exerted presses Trigger Point hurts at the beginning but relief is caused, a positive effect is derived: the organism secretes endorphins to appease that pain. We owe this to the analgesic effect of endorphins.

In summary, musculoskeletal pain responds very well to the combination of massage techniques achieving an analgesic effect and the consequent relief of pain.
